Smartys Number 1!!

Lee has been announced as Dudley Heathens number 1 rider to spearhead their team in the 2010 National League.

Lee has plenty of National and Premier League experience under his belt and is relishing the prospect of leading the famous heathens out on their return to the British league on shale.

This is a nice move for Lee as he looked set to be on the sidelines as the season kicks off in a few weeks time. Lee will have a good amount of fixtures in which he can show the Premier League boss’s what they are missing and hopefully get a team place in the 2nd tier too.

Lee’s average in the Premier league is just low enough to allow him to double up all year long so the more rides the better this season.

Lee is also looking to do some grasstrack meetings and possibly race abroad alongside his good mate Chris Johnson who is also without a speedway team place this season.

Not long to go

As the season nears Lee is still without a team in either the Premier or National Leagues. Lee is still on the hunt for a team but is also looking ahead at more grass track meetings this season which will please some fans greatly.

Lee has been sharpening his riding skills over the last few months on a motocross bike in preparation for the 2010 season as he wants to be fitter than ever this year to continue his progress up the ladder.

Looking ahead to 2010

It's been a few weeks now since the end of the season and Smarty can look back on it a success.

He started of just racing in the National league for the Weymouth Wildcats before short loan stints in the Premier League with Stoke & Glasgow. These two short stints were both filled with good scores which prompted his parent club Birmingham to recall him permanently into the Premier League team.

Meanwhile in the National League Lee had been racking up the big scores week in week out until it all ended sourly at Bournemouth. A dispute between Lee and the Wildcats promotion led to him leaving Weymouth and concentrating on his Premier League commitments.

Lee ended the season with disappointment after his team Birmingham missed out on the League title in a close run battle.

He is now looking forward to 2010 and has already started work behind the scenes organising his bikes and working on his fitness.

3rd Place in Grasstrack and more to come

Lee rode his first Grasstrack of the 2009 season on the 22nd March at Chippenham. It was a tough line up on the day riding on the small track, which created some exciting racing for the fans. Lee managed to finish 3rd in the final which was a pleasing result. Lee has penciled in a few more Grasstrack meetings for the near future and hope to continue riding them throughout the Speedway season.

01.03.09

Practice going to plan

Lee has had two weekends practice under his belt now and is really getting into his stride. Last weekend he was down at Newport to ride on their newly re-laid track which has been a major improvement as it’s now very smooth. This weekend he took to his home track for 2009 down at Weymouth

Both weekends have been good for lee and he has tried out a few set-ups and racing lines. He seems to be going at a good pace and is keen to get race fit ready for the season. Although his season won’t start until mid April Lee wants to be ready in case any Premier League teams have injuries and need him to step in at short notice.

22.01.09

Back to Cat!!

Lee has agreed a deal to head back down to the Wessex Stadium this season. He spent the tail end of the season there and put in some great performances. He is now looking forward to helping Weymouth retain the third tier championship crown.

Behind the scenes he is busy working away and building up his bikes for the new season which he hopes will prove a good one and help him rise up the Speedway ladder.
